Hartford Athletic Players Departing For International Duty

In the morning hours before Hartford Athletic’s second match of the season, another Hartford player was called up for International Duty. Forward Walmer Martinez has been pulled into the El Salvador camp ahead of their FIFA World Cup Qualifying match against the US Virgin Islands. Arriving as a trialist, Walmer has been dominating the field since he was signed just last month.

This is the first season where Hartford Athletic fans will see their players leave for international duty. Other Hartford players that will be joining Walmer on International Duty are Forward Juan Carlos Obregón Jr for Honduras, Defender Nicolás Cardona for Puerto Rico, as well as Hartford’s newest signing, and it’s first from the academy, Defender Giovanni Calderon for Puerto Rico.  With three key players leaving this summer, how will Hartford Athletic manage the USL Championship season?
