FC Cincinnati Re-Sign Yuya Kubo

FC Cincinnati Re-Sign Yuya Kubo

FC Cincinnati have re-signed a key depth piece in Yuya Kubo ahead of the 2024 season. The 29 year old Kubo won a Supporters’ Shield last season with Cincinnati and played a major role in that off the bench or in a spot starter role. He played in a little under 1,600 minutes during the 2023 across all competitions. In those games he went on to score 2 goals and had 3 assists.

Kubo has been one of the few Cincinnati players to transition and adapt well over different iterations of leadership at the club. He is a player who has played at some of the highest international and club levels, continuing to be a leader in that locker room. I expect with only more competitions and games for Cincinnati in 2024, we see more of Kubo filling in as a spot starter for either Lucho Acosta or within the central midfield.
