CF Montreal Hire Laurent Courtois As Next Manager

CF Montreal have found their next manager in Laurent Courtois. The 45 year old Frenchman joins Montreal after managing the Columbus Crew 2 in MLS Next Pro the last few seasons. In his two seasons managing Crew 2; Courtois made back to back MLS Next Pro finals, won the 2022 MLS Next Pro final, and won the 2022 MLS Next Pro Coach of the Year award. During 59 games in charge of Columbus Crew 2, he would finish with a record of 43 wins and 16 losses. He now gets his first opportunity to manage a 1st division side, taking over for Hernan Losada up in Montreal.

Last season, CF Montreal had a disappointing end of year missing out on the MLS Cup Playoff play-in games. After Montrel traded away Wilfried Nancy to the Columbus Crew before the 2023 MLS season, Montreal decided to give Hernan Losada his 2nd chance in MLS. After being in a position to make the MLS Cup Playoffs late, Montreal and Losada failed to make it. Now, the Frenchman makes the jump to the MLS level to take over a Montreal side that is used to unproven managers.
