Colorado Rapids Transfer Max Alves To Cuiaba

The Colorado Rapids have sold midfielder Max Alves to Cuiaba in the Brazilian Serie A. The 22 year old midfielder initially joined Colorado in January of 2022 from Flamengo in Brazil. Between the 2022 and 2023 MLS seasons, Max would play a total of 47 games between Colorado and Colorado 2. During those roughly 2,000 minutes played within the Colorado Rapids system, he would score 4 goals and record 4 assists.

His time in Colorado ended poorly as Max was suspended for the majority of the 2023 MLS season due to alleged unlawful sports gambling. Shortly following the reports that came out from ESPN about those allegations, the Rapids would remove Max from team activities. Now with the departure of Max, the Rapids have opened up another U22 Initiative spot on their roster.
