Orlando City SC Sign Facundo Torres To A Contract Extension

Orlando City SC have signed winger Facundo Torres to a contract extension through the 2026 MLS season with a club option for the 2027 MLS season. The 23 year old Uruguay international helped win the Lion’s first trophy in club history with a 2022 U.S. Open Cup title. Last season, the DP attacker had 14 goals and 3 assists across 3,200 minutes played. Torres now has a total of 27 goals and 13 assists in his two seasons with Orlando City, after joining from Penarol in 2022.

Torres will remain to be one of the brightest young stars within Major League Soccer heading into a new season. Another season with him teaming up with striker Duncan McGuire and newly signed teammate Nicolas Lodeiro should create some magical moments for Orlando City and their fans in 2024. Torres is someone who should be a starting winger option but also provide some high quality depth in the middle of the park if needed. Keeping one of the best players in the league locked down for years to come is always a smart option.
