St. Louis City SC Sign Nikolas Dyer From FC Midtjylland

St. Louis City SC have signed Danish left-back Nikolas Dyhr from Danish SuperLiga club FC Midtjylland. The 22 year old defender came up through the Midtjylland’s system, playing a total of 103 games for the club. During his time with the club, he won a Danish SuperLiga title and two Danish Cups. In the last few years, Dyhr has gone out on loan with the likes of AC Horsens and KV Kortrijk. On loan, he has played a total of 18 games.

The former Denmark youth international defender now joins St. Louis City who only had 1 left-back on the roster prior to this move. Dyhr will compete with Anthony Markanich for the starting left-back role in 2024. I give the slight edge to Markanich who surprisingly impressed upon his arrival mid-way through the 2023 MLS season. In 11 games played for St. Louis he has scored 1 goal and has 1 assist. Either way, both of these talented and still young leftbacks will be asked to play a ton of minutes in 2024 as the club now balances CONCACAF Champions Cup, MLS season play, Leagues Cup, and potentially more.
