New York Red Bulls Sign Daniel Edelman To Contract Extension

The New York Red Bulls have signed midfielder Daniel Edelman to a contract extension ahead of the 2024 season. Edelman signs a contract through the 2027 MLS season with a club option for the 2028 season. The 20 year old defensive midfielder has had an impressive career so far. On the international stage, Edelman helped lead the U.S. U-20s to a CONCACAF U-20 Championship, qualifying the U.S. for the 2023 U20 World Cup. On top of an impressive youth international career, Edelman has now made 90 professional appearances between the Red Bulls and Red Bulls II.

I fully expect Edelman to be a starter for the Red Bulls in 2024. We should get something similar to what we did in 2023, pairing him in the lower midfield block next to Frankie Amaya. Even with a new manager coming in Sandro Schwarz, Edelman is a big time young talent with a long future ahead of him in Europe. 2024 could be the last season we see of him in MLS, at least for now.
