The New England Revolution Add Nick Lima From Austin FC

The New England Revolution add some needed fullback depth by trading for Nick Lima from Austin FC. First off, shoutout to Nick Lima! He was the first player who came on the MLS Aces Podcast when he was drafted by San Jose in the MLS SuperDraft. The 29 year old former USMNT fullback heads to the northeast for $300,000 in GAM. 

This move is so critical because one thing that hurt New England in 2023 was fullback injuries and depth. Once Brandon Bye went down for the season, New England struggled to replace him. This move gives the Revs some much needed help, especially since Brandon Bye is still set to miss some time in 2024. Even when Bye returns to the fold for New England, being able to have DeJuan Jones and Brandon Bye as your starters, and then Nick Lima behind them for depth? That is only a great thing for the incoming manager of the New England Revolution.

Nick Lima has played in 211 games for his career between his time at the San Jose Earthquakes and Austin FC. In those games he has featured in MLS action, CONCACAF Champions Cup, Leagues Cup, and the MLS Cup Playoffs. Nick Lima has proven his ability to add to the attack in his career as well. Lima has scored 8 goals during his time within MLS, adding 16 assists as well.
